We can hardly live a perfect life, but we can live a surpassing one with the heavenly faith received through God’s grace. Through faith we will be able to turn our eyes from difficult circumstances and focus on who He is and what He has done. Once we turn our eyes back to God, our praise to Him will flow out of us naturally. However, it is usually not our habit to do so. We ought to exercise our will consciously and intentionally to praise Him. May the Spirit help us to proclaim His name and wonderful deeds, and “ascribe to Him the glory due His name”.

Month of Praising - Day 5

Psalm 113
113 Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord! 2 Blessed be the name of the Lord From this time forth and forevermore! 3 From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord’s name is to be praised. 4 The Lord is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. 5 Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, 6 Who humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth? 7 He raises the poor out of the dust, And lifts the needy out of the ash heap, 8 That He may seat him with princes—With the princes of His people. 9 He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord!

This psalm praises the glory and mercy of God. Though God's glory is high above heavens, yet he regards the lowly. Therefore, the poet eagerly invites all to praise the Lord with him. First "you", then "servants of the Lord", and finally "all the earth", should praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord -- for He "is high above all nations", "dwells on high", "humbles Himself to behold The things that are in the heavens and in the earth", " raises the poor",  and "lifts the needy", etc. There is no one like the Lord that cares us so much. "For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him." (Isaiah 64:4)

Are you willing to accept with joy the invitation of the poet -- to praise the Lord together, "From this time forth and forevermore"? Our God is beyond time, and so shall our praise be! "From the rising of the sun to its going down", wherever we are, and whatever happens, we shall bless the name of the Lord. Because the Lord is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent!

113
