Psalm 145:1-13
1 I will extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And on Your wondrous works.
6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,
And I will declare Your greatness.
7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness,
And shall sing of Your righteousness.
8 The Lord is gracious and full of compassion,
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
9 The Lord is good to all,
And His tender mercies are over all His works.
10 All Your works shall praise You, O Lord,
And Your saints shall bless You.
11 They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your power,
12 To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,
And the glorious majesty of His kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
If you have ever had children at home you know how careful you have to be with what comes out of your mouth. Like big sponges they soak in what we say, pick up our language, and absorb our attitudes. In Israel, parents had the awesome responsibility to teach their children the person and ways of God. Look carefully here how the psalmist leads Israel in how to praise God - parents do not only instruct about the Lord but praise God’s works to their children and declare his mighty acts.
Do our children see our daily relationship with God as one full of praise for his wondrous works, glorious splendor, and the tender mercies which are all over his works? Do they know how grateful we are that God’s graciousness saved us when we were sinners so far from him? Do they hear us sing praises to Christ for his compassion and great mercy on our lives? How about others around us - younger generations at church, those younger in the faith, brothers and sisters in our small group, or coworkers and friends?
This psalm is one of six final hymns which close the psalter in a vibrant display of praise for who God is and what he has done, is doing, and will do. These praises are like fireworks exploding in the night sky - a sure sign for all to see and appreciate the Lord God Almighty who reigns forever in his everlasting kingdom. Let us direct such praise to the Lord then and as we do let us sing his praise to the next generation so that they might know his mighty acts and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

1 我的神我的王啊，我要尊崇你，我要永永遠遠稱頌你的名！
2 我要天天稱頌你，也要永永遠遠讚美你的名！
3 耶和華本為大，該受大讚美，其大無法測度。
4 這代要對那代頌讚你的作為，也要傳揚你的大能。
5 我要默念你威嚴的尊榮，和你奇妙的作為。
6 人要傳說你可畏之事的能力，我也要傳揚你的大德。
7 他們記念你的大恩就要傳出來，並要歌唱你的公義。
8 耶和華有恩惠，有憐憫，不輕易發怒，大有慈愛。
9 耶和華善待萬民，他的慈悲覆庇他一切所造的。
10 耶和華啊，你一切所造的都要稱謝你，你的聖民也要稱頌你。
11 傳說你國的榮耀，談論你的大能，
12 好叫世人知道你大能的作為，並你國度威嚴的榮耀。
13 你的國是永遠的國，你執掌的權柄存到萬代。
若是你家中曾經有過小孩子，你就知道你該何等謹慎你口中所出的言語。就像海綿一樣，孩子們吸取我們所說的，學會我們的言語，而且吸收我們一切的態度。在以色列，父母有責任教導他們的孩子認識 神、認識 神的位格和祂做事的法則。請仔細觀察，在這段經文裡詩人是怎樣引導以色列人來讚美 神的 － 父母不僅教導孩子認識 神，而且也對他們的孩子頌讚 神的作為、傳揚 神的大德。
在孩子的眼裡，我們日常與 神的關係是不是全是因 神威嚴的尊榮、奇妙的作為、溫柔的憐憫而向祂發出的讚美呢？神在我們還做罪人的時候神就因著自己的恩慈救了我們，我們的孩子知不知道我們因此而對 神心懷感恩呢？我們的孩子有沒有聽到過我們因為基督對我們的憐憫而唱出的讚美詩歌呢？我們周圍別的人 － 就像教會中的年輕一代、初信的人、小組中的弟兄姊妹、同工或朋友 － 有沒有看到、聽到或知道上面的那些事呢？
這篇詩歌是詩篇結尾的六篇詩歌中的一篇，這六篇詩歌都在響亮地讚美 神的所是，以及 神以前、現在和將來的所作。這些讚美就像夜晚天空中燃放的煙花 － 給所有觀看的人一個確實的信號，使他們因著在永恆的國度裡掌權的全能 神而感恩。讓我們直接向 神發出讚美吧，同時讓我們也向我們的下一代頌讚 神，使他們知道 神全能的作為，以及 神國度威嚴的榮光！
