Psalm 8
8 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! 2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. 3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? 5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7 All sheep and oxen—even the beasts of the field, 8 The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. 9 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth!
Dear brothers and sisters, today is the first day of December. We will offer to God our daily sacrifice of praise in the coming 31 days, as well as experience the great power of praise and enjoy the blessing through such practices.
This passage is a powerful hymn that starts and ends with praise, emphasizing on the honor and wonderfulness of the Lord. The poet can't help praising the Lord with beautiful words when he considers the glory of the Lord, who made everything in the world! When I consider the vast universe and watch the "the moon and the stars which the Lord has ordained", I can't help praising the Lord with the poet: "What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? " Think about it: we human beings are so small and weak like infants, but the almighty Lord is mindful of us and chooses us to be His beloved children.
We should open our mouth widely to praise the Lord, for He has given us the royal position above all other creatures. Only we human beings are created in His own image. Not only does He give us the rights and liabilities to dominate over the earth, but also the ability to conquer. Therefore, we can defeat our enemies through Him, magnifying His glory.
Brothers and sisters, shall we praise the Lord loudly together: "O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth"!
詩篇 8
1 耶和華我們的主啊，你的名在全地何其美，你將你的榮耀彰顯於天！2 你因敵人的緣故，從嬰孩和吃奶的口中建立了能力，使仇敵和報仇的閉口無言。3 我觀看你指頭所造的天，並你所陳設的月亮星宿，4 便說：「人算什麼，你竟顧念他？世人算什麼，你竟眷顧他？5 你叫他比天使微小一點，並賜他榮耀尊貴為冠冕。6 你派他管理你手所造的，使萬物，就是一切的牛羊，田野的獸，空中的鳥，海裡的魚，凡經行海道的，都服在他的腳下。」9 耶和華我們的主啊，你的名在全地何其美！
親愛的弟兄姊妹，今天是12月的第一天，我們可以在連續的31天裡，每天用一段經文向 神獻上讚美的祭，也可以一起來經歷讚美的大能，以及享受這個操練帶給我們的祝福。
本篇是一首強而有力的讚美詩，是從讚美開始，最後也以讚美結束，重在歌頌 神的尊榮和奇妙。詩人一看見 神的榮耀，就情不自禁地湧出美詞來頌讚 ---- 這位創造宇宙萬物的主宰！當我想到浩瀚的宇宙，又看到 神在天上「所陳設的月亮星宿」，也忍不住地要和詩人同聲讚美 神，說：「人算什麼，袮竟顧念他？世人算什麼，袮竟眷顧他？」想想，我們人類這麼渺小、軟弱，像嬰孩一般，全能的 神卻顧念我們，並揀選我們成為祂所愛的兒女。
真是要大大張口來讚美 神，因祂賜給我們遠超其他一切受造之物的尊貴身份，也唯有我們人是照著 神的形像被創造的，祂不僅把管理全地的權責交給我們，也把得勝的能力賜給我們，使我們能靠祂擊敗仇敵，並彰顯祂的榮耀。
弟兄姊妹，好不好，讓我們一起來揚聲讚美 神，說：「耶和華我們的主啊，袮的名在全地何其美」！
